More Questions on the Charter Scandal

The more I think about the alleged “Charter Party,” the more questions I have.  Yesterday, I started thinking about their bank accounts.  All bank accounts must have one of two things:  an associated Social Security Number, or a Tax ID Number.  Which one is tagged to the Charter Committee’s bank accounts?

If it is a SSN, then that means that one person is running Charter as a DBA account (Doing Business As).  The account essentially belongs to that person.  Is Charter running its finances through a DBA account?  Who’s SSN is associated?  Who really gets the money when someone gives to Charter?

Or, do they have a Tax ID number?  If so, how did they get it?  Is there some incorporated company whose Tax ID is being used on the account?  If so, what is that company?

What am I missing about the details of setting up bank accounts?

Also, there are questions still unanswered about the Cincinnati Charter as it pertains to defining “political parties” as “organizations.” What is an “organization”?  Is Towne Properties an “organization”?  If so, could they endorse Chris Bortz in this election, then become the “Towne Properties Political Party,” and give him $10,000 next cycle?  If not, why not?

Thank you for reading (and printing from) The Cincinnati Beacon.
