Mayor Mallory:  Bring American Idol to Cincinnati?
Sunday, January 21, 2007

Dear Mayor Mallory:

I am not a huge fan of too many television shows, but I do enjoy watching the first few weeks of American Idol each year—the episodes where the really bad singers get insulted by the judges.  But the other day, while watching the auditions from Seattle, it occurred to me that perhaps Cincinnati should pitch to get the show here next season.

Mr. Frank Clark:

As you are aware, CitiCable stopped broadcasting the public forum during Council meetings a few years back.  As you are also aware, times have changed since then—and the atmosphere is very different at City Hall today.  I am writing this letter to request that you once again televise the public forum during Council’s weekly meetings.

Saturday, December 16, 2006

Dear Rep. Brinkman:

As you know, I have had the opportunity to meet “Charles Foster Kane” (publisher of The Whistleblower) on one occasion—at an Anderson Republican Club meeting.  Andrew Warner and I were covering an event, and you personally introduced us to Kane.  I also noticed, at that time, how Kane wore a personalized tie featuring your likeness.
