I am not a huge fan of too many television shows, but I do enjoy watching the first few weeks of American Idol each year—the episodes where the really bad singers get insulted by the judges.  But the other day, while watching the auditions from Seattle, it occurred to me that perhaps Cincinnati should pitch to get the show here next season.

The following is the text of an information request submitted to Mayor Mallory’s office by Jenny Edwards.  Recently, Dick Weiland showed up at a Cincinnati Empowerment Corporation meeting asking for money on behalf of the City of Cincinnati.  Since when did Dick Weiland become a lobbyist for the City?  Do we want him acting in that capacity?  Should citizens have an opinion on who lobbies for the City?
