Open Letter Concerning Bill Gothard
Saturday, January 21, 2006

Dear Mayor Mallory and Members of City Council:

I am writing this as a follow up to a previous letter, emailed last Monday and hand-delivered to your offices on Wednesday (just to make sure you all received the communication).  A growing number of citizens are becoming concerned about the City’s involvement with a cult-like group of religious zealots, and we would like to hear your response.

Open Letter to Cecil Thomas
Thursday, January 19, 2006

Dear Councilmember Cecil Thomas:

It is my understanding that you recently appeared on the 12 Newsmakers program.  Reportedly, you said that a cop who pulls over a car for having windows tinted too darkly or for having a light out over their license plate has probable cause to search that vehicle for guns or drugs.

Monday, January 16, 2006

Dear Mayor Mallory and Members of City Council:

I’m writing to you about a curious discovery I made while reading an article about County Commissioner Phil Heimlich and a cult-like movement known as “Gothardism.” Apparently, Heimlich has been involved in giving questionable training materials to Cincinnati Police.

Melanie Bates With Even More on Green Schools
Friday, January 06, 2006

[Dean]

The school design work is done with school-based teams whose membership includes central office staff, school staff, parents, and community members.  Perhaps attending a meeting of Winton Montessori’s team or any one of the others in the design phase may give you insight into the process.  I am sure they are public meetings, since the group represents the school community.  If you are interested in this, let me know and I’ll get you more info.

Melanie Bates Responds On Green Schools
Thursday, January 05, 2006

Hi [Dean],

“Green buildings” certainly is a concept that CPS is considering in the design of our upcoming school construction projects, and the board has a track record of revisiting and revising the Facilities Master Plan as needed.  Currently design teams at these schools are incorporating “green concepts” into the plans.

Cincinnati Is A Town of Misappropriated Funding
Saturday, December 31, 2005

Hello,

I heard you guys on WAIF.  I just wanted to say the biggest problem in Cincinnati is not whites and blacks.  It’s the city itself.  I live in Covington and I’ve been been in Over-the-Rhine because I worked in an art gallery there for at least 3 yrs.

Is Blogger Joy Rolland Breaking More Laws?  An Open Letter to The Black Norma Desmond
Tuesday, December 27, 2005

Dear Joy Rolland:

I would like to formally apologize if my previous letters regarding The Kabaka Oba Legal Defense Fund bothered you, but I did feel that the Cincinnati Blogosphere deserved accurate and detailed information.  Today, however, I bring you a new inquiry in regards to the blog you used to replace The Free Kabaka Blog—something you have entitled “The Broken Dish.”

Open Letter to Joy Rolland, Moderator of the FreeKabaka Blog
Friday, December 23, 2005

Dear Joy Rolland,

Several weeks ago, I sent you this public inquiry about the “Kabaka Oba Legal Defense Fund” you opened at Fifth-Third Bank.  The account is just an ordinary banking account, and there is nothing about it to guarantee that money deposited is actually used for Kabaka Oba’s legal defense fund.  (I called and verified this with a 5/3 employee.) In addition to never answering this simple inquiry, it has been reported that you have slandered me on your television show for asking this question.
